Westbound Interstate 44 Reopens in Oklahoma City after Crash

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says Interstate 44 has reopened in northwest Oklahoma City after it was shut down for several hours Thursday morning.

Authorities say the westbound interstate lanes closed west of May Avenue at the 39th Expressway junction because of an overturned tractor-trailer. The interstate reopened at 10:30 a.m. yesterday, three hours after it was shut down so crews could clean up debris.

Drivers had been encouraged to use an alternate route.
