TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The 17-year-old son of a Tulsa woman found dead in her home has been arrested in connection with her death.
Tulsa police said Wednesday that the youth was picked up after having been sought since a relative found the body of 56-year-old Linda Laird on Tuesday.
Officers received a tip Wednesday afternoon that the 17-year-old was at a home in the area. Police say the youth surrendered peacefully.
At 2 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested 19-year-old Josiah Israel Sklar on a first-degree murder complaint after questioning him in Laird's death.
Based on statements Sklar made to investigators and on an account from a relative, who said the younger teen left the house when his mother's body was discovered, police sought the son.
Police said Laird was bludgeoned.
