U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn had canceled one of several town hall meetings he had planned. Coburn canceled a town hall meeting scheduled for noon on Aug. 12 in Bartlesville after learning of a long-standing community-wide meeting planned for approximately the same time and on the same date in Bartlesville.

Coburn's office said in a news release that the senator is canceling his meeting in Bartlesville so as not to conflict with an important Chamber of Commerce meeting.

The Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce's website shows a previously scheduled a meeting for 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 12 with Phillips 66 chairman and CEO Greg Garland.

Coburn still plans meetings during the first two weeks in August in Oklahoma City, Altus, Lawton, Enid and Tulsa.
