Performance Oklahoma: OK Mozart International Festival Chamber Music broadcasts

Paul Neubauer at the OK Mozart International Festival

This week Performance Oklahoma presents Editions One and Two from the 2012 OK Mozart International Festival Chamber Music Series featuring Paul Neubauer and friends in their final season of performances.   In the first hour, listeners will enjoy the ZweiGesange Op 91 for Contralto, Viola and Piano by Johannes Brahms featuring mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, violist Paul Neubauer and pianist Orion Weiss and Mozart’s SinfoniaConcertanteK364 in an arrangement for string sextet played by violinists AniKavafian and Katie Hyun, violists Paul Neubauer and Andy Lin and cellists Peter Wiley and MihaiMarica.   And Baritone Kelly Markgraf and pianist Anna Polonsky offer Franz Schubert’s Die Forelle. 

In the second hour, baritone Kelly Markgraf joins violist Paul Neubauer and pianist Anna Polonsky to present the Five Songs for Voice, Viola and Piano Op 5 by Charles Loeffler.  Paul and Anna  join violinist AniKavafian and cellist Peter Wiley for a performance of the Quartet for Piano and Strings Op 47 by Robert Schumann.  And violist Andy Lin shares his other great musical passion, offering a performance on one of the most beautiful of the traditional Chinese instruments, the erhu. The musicians and special guest Bill McLaughlin offer lively and insightful commentary.
