Roads in Tulsa Better Than Western Oklahoma

KWGS

With snowy conditions in parts of the state, Oklahoma Department of Transportation's crews are treating roads and bridges. Crews are applying salt and sand to bridges in following the counties:

Crews will continue monitoring the weather conditions across the state and will deploy salt and sand trucks as needed. Drivers should use caution in these areas through the morning and be alert to change in weather conditions.

REMEMBER during snowy and icy conditions, motorists are asked to:

• Stay about 200 feet behind road clearing equipment; crews need room to maneuver and can engage plowing or spreading materials without notice.

• Allow extra space between vehicles to provide adequate distance for braking.

• Be aware of "black ice," which looks wet on the roadway but is a thin layer of ice.

• Be patient, plan trips ahead and allow extra time in reaching destinations.
