In Conversation with David Dawson, the Noted British Choreographer

Our guest on this edition of ST is David Dawson, the noted British choreographer. Tulsa Ballet will soon stage one of Dawson's most celebrated works, "A Million Kisses to My Skin," as part of a three-piece presentation at the Tulsa PAC. It's the "Signature Series" evening, happening from May 11th through the 14th, and it is thus described at the Tulsa Ballet website: "Join us for [the] final performance of our 60th anniversary season with this stunning triple-bill evening of contemporary ballet. 'Cacti' features 16 dancers creating rhythms together and will have you laughing out loud. 'A Million Kisses to My Skin' is an exuberant tribute to classical dance that evokes feelings of bliss. 'Cripple and the Starfish,' created for Tulsa Ballet's Creations in Studio K series in 2014 and an audience favorite, returns for an encore performance."

Rich Fisher passed through KWGS about thirty years ago, and just never left. Today, he is the general manager of Public Radio Tulsa, and the host of KWGS’s public affairs program, StudioTulsa, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in August 2012 . As host of StudioTulsa, Rich has conducted roughly four thousand long-form interviews with local, national, and international figures in the arts, humanities, sciences, and government. Very few interviews have gone smoothly. Despite this, he has been honored for his work by several organizations including the Governor's Arts Award for Media by the State Arts Council, a Harwelden Award from the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa, and was named one of the “99 Great Things About Oklahoma” in 2000 by Oklahoma Today magazine.
