The Afghanistan Perceivers, Tulsa’s official Sherlock Holmes appreciation society, will present the groundbreaking 1916 silent film Sherlock Holmes at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Kendall-Whittier public library, 21 S. Lewis Ave.
The movie is William Gillette’s cinematic adaptation of his popular, late Victorian play by the same name. Gillette single-handedly helped to popularize Sherlock Holmes in the United States by starring as Holmes on stage and screen. After the presentation, viewers are invited to walk two blocks west to Gillette Avenue, where they will toast the actor/playwright/director.
