Oklahoma Administrative Law Judge OKs ONG Settlement

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Monthly service charges will increase for Oklahoma Natural Gas customers under a $9.5 million rate case settlement that has been recommended for approval.

Oklahoma Corporation Commission administrative law judge James Myles on Thursday recommended adoption of the agreement reached by ONG, Attorney General Scott Pruitt's office and a group representing industrial consumers. The settlement now goes to commission members for final approval.

The Oklahoman reports that monthly charges for residential customers will go up by nearly $12 annually. However, separate reductions in the fuel-cost portion of customer bills from lower natural gas prices mean most customer bills will decrease.

ONG sought a $16.2 million rate increase to help fund $93 million in infrastructure improvements.

Company spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard says officials appreciate the law judge's ruling.
