No one is seriously injured when a car leaves Riverside Drive and plunges into the Arkansas River. It happened this morning about 7:15 near the low water dam at 31st Street.
The car rolled down the embankment and landed on its side in the water, just north of the dam. The driver managed to get out of the car and was on the river bank when the first emergency responders arrived on the scene. She suffered some cuts and scrapes, but was not seriously hurt.
A wrecker was called to the scene to pull the car from the waters.
