The Tulsa School Board will reopen the Alcott Elementary School in North Tulsa. It will be re-purposed as the McLain Seventh Grade Center in an effort to ease overcrowding.
Tulsa School Board Member Doctor Lana Turner-Addison praised the plan. She thanked those who addressed the board and said she believed the plan would east the McLain overcrowding.
The Alcott School is on 46th Street North, just east of Martin Luther King. The other school under consideration was the Cherokee Elementary School in Turley.
