Tornado Damaged Vehicles in Moore Must be Moved

NWS

MOORE, Okla. (AP) — Officials in Moore say vehicles that have been abandoned since being damaged by the May 20th killer tornado must be moved by Wednesday or they will be impounded.

An estimated 300 heavily damaged vehicles remain scattered in the Oklahoma City suburb. City Manager Steve Eddy says if the vehicles are not claimed by 8 p.m. Wednesday the city will have them towed away and the owners will have to pay the expenses.

About 30 autos are in the parking lot of Moore Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman tells The Norman Transcript that none of the vehicles belong to hospital employees. She says some may have been thrown into the lot by the tornado while others may have been dragged there if they were blocking a street.
