Tulsa firefighters struggle in stiff south winds to bring a blaze under control in an abandoned church in north Tulsa. The church, on the corner of Rockford and Independence is estimated to be at least 75-years old.
When fire trucks rolled to the scene flames were coming from the windows. The fire soon broke through the roof. The church is the former Bowen Indian Baptist Church. It has been closed for several years.
Neighbors say it got real smoky in the neighborhood and then all of a sudden they started hearing glass breaking. That is when the fire broke through the windows.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
