Tulsa Public Schools to Come to Snow Day Decision

KWGS News File Photo

The Tulsa Public School board will soon make a decision on how to make up snow days. The recent winter weather is forcing TPS to look at various options. District spokesman, Chris Payne, says they have exceeded the number of planned snow days.

"So we're looking at various options - the possibility of maybe extending the school day. There's also the possibility that we're going back and counting the number of hours."

Payne says the unpredictable weather has proved it is hard to plan out snow days.

"Usually TPS exceeds the number of hours that the State Department of Education requires. And if we go back and count and assure that we've done that, it may be possible that we may not need to make that day up at all."

The TPS board will soon decide on how to make up the snow days.
