VIDEO: Costco Will Come to Tulsa

KWGS News

Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Tulsa City Councilor Phil Lakin announced today that Costco will be opening their first store in Oklahoma at 103rd and Memorial in Tulsa.

Costco is a popular wholesale warehouse club across the country that will bring a wide selection of merchandise to Tulsans. Costco plans to be open by summer 2015 and expects to employee 200 positions with the store opening.

“To have Costco in the Tulsa market is a homerun for our city as the lifeblood of core services for cities across the state are based on retail sales and sales tax. This development should add to Tulsa’s tax base and continue our mission of bringing jobs and opportunities to Tulsans,” Mayor Dewey Bartlett said.

Costco will begin the permitting process with the City of Tulsa tomorrow.

Mayor Bartlett, Councilor Lakin, CB Richard Ellis and the Mayor’s Economic Development Dept. worked with the Costco development team for over two years to secure the location in Tulsa.
