Local businesses are in the spotlight as Tulsa joins in Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Tulsa’s events are the result of collaboration among several groups, including the Tulsa Chamber. Entrepreneurship project manager Jessica Flint said they’ve drawn nearly 6,000 people total since 2007.
"As we continue to work on this, we see more people jumping in and collaborating, putting together events, and the quality of events just keeps getting better," Flint said.
There are events for people with ideas, people who have started a company and investors. A full schedule is available online. There will be something happening Monday through Thursday.
"The idea is to put all these events in one week so we can all get connected around the idea of entrepreneurship in Tulsa and really capitalize on the energy that's already happening here," Flint said.
Tulsa got off to an early start with a diversity conference Saturday. The community is welcome to attend events alongside with the city’s entrepreneurs and investors.
"We are a supportive community for our local businesses, and what better way to support than attending these events and meeting the entrepreneurs that are around us and supporting their companies and being aware of who those startups are?" Flint said.
Forbes Magazine ranks Tulsa America’s top city for young entrepreneurs.
