BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says speeding likely played a role in a single-car wreck that killed a 19-year-old who was riding as a passenger in the vehicle.

Officials say Tyler Avard of Broken Arrow died Monday in the Wagoner County rollover accident.

Troopers say the 17-year-old driver lost control of the car, which ran off the road. She then overcorrected, sending the car across the road and into a ditch. The state's highway patrol says the car rolled and landed in the roadway.

Authorities say the driver and another passenger were taken to a Tulsa hospital and released. All three were wearing seat belts.
