TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A 41-year old associate of the Universal Aryan Brotherhood prison gang has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for violence committed in aid of racketeering.

Federal prosecutors say that with his guilty plea, Tulsa resident Robert Allen Paul Bryan also acknowledged his association with the UAB, a violent, "whites only" prison-based gang with members and associates operating inside and outside of state prisons throughout Oklahoma.

Prosecutors said Bryan admitted that in May 2013, he and other UAB members restrained a former UAB member while other gang members used a heated knife to burn off the victim's UAB neck tattoo.

Bryan pleaded guilty on June 4, 2015.
