Red Flag Fire Warning Issued in Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag fire warnings for parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas.

The warning is in effect from late Thursday morning until Thursday night for western and northeastern Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Panhandle and northwestern Arkansas.

The weather service says the humidity will be 30 percent and lower throughout the region and fuels such as grass, vegetation and wood will be very dry. Temperatures are expected to generally reach the 70s and winds are expected from the southwest at up to 45 miles per hour.

The weather service says outdoor burning is discouraged and any fire that begins could spread rapidly.
