Litter on a Stick

Oklahoma City crews plan to remove what they call " litter on a stick.''  
 Workers will begin a campaign to remove illegally placed signs along city right-of-ways beginning next week. They'll also take them down from utility poles.  
 The city said Monday that several two-person crews will work throughout the city April 11-15 as parts of the Oklahoma City Beautiful LitterBlitz campaign. Signs that prove difficult to remove will be tagged with a sticker and another crew will return later to remove them.  
 City officials said that, outside of the blitz, Oklahoma City has four part-time employees who remove signs throughout the year. In a typical year, they take down 50,000 signs, or about 1,000 a week.
