The Tulsa Health Department will be offering a Housing 101 workshop next week. The workshop will give all those interested in housing regulations an opportunity to learn more on the "bare minimum safety standards for housing" in Tulsa and the state of Oklahoma. The health department's Bernard Dindy says information on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, safe heating sources, and occupancy limitations will be offered to all those who attend.
The International Property Maintenance Code, Oklahoma Residential Landlord-Tenant Law and the Fair Housing Act will all be covered in the workshop. Representatives from the Tulsa Health Department and Legal Aid Services will be present to answer any questions from attendants.
The workshop will take place April 21st at the Tulsa Health Department at 5051 S. 129 E. Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The workshop is free, however space is limited to the first 150 who register. Those wanting to attend are instructed to call 918-595-4200 or email ehsd@tulsa-health.org.
