Older Brother Charged in Broken Arrow Family Murders Attempted Suicide

Broken Arrow Police

One of the two brothers charged in last year’s mass murder in a family’s Broken Arrow home attempted suicide in jail nearly three weeks ago.

According to a recently released jail incident report, 19-year-old Robert Bever tried to hang himself with a sheet around 12:15 p.m. June 17. He was discovered during a routine check and cut down.

Medical staff determined Bever was uninjured, and while he was not taken to the hospital he was placed on suicide watch.

Bever and his 17-year-old brother, Michael, are charged with five counts each of first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing to death their parents and three of five younger siblings.

Their district court arraignment is scheduled for Monday morning.
