What to Do with Tornado-Damaged Remington Tower?

NWS-Photo

Structural engineers have been brought in to go over the structural integrity of Remington Tower. The 18 story high rise was severely damaged in last Sunday’s EF-2 tornado.

The building, on the south side of I-44 from 41st and Hudson, took a direct hit from the twister. Windows were smashed out  by high winds and flying debris. Parts of the building's brick façade were blown-off the structure.

The engineers will determine if the building can be renovated and how much that would cost. Meanwhile, the businesses in the tower remain closed.
