Oklahoma Teachers Hold Car Show

Linda Murphy

At the height of the April Teachers’ Walkout, Governor Fallin angered many Oklahoma educators when she compared their desire for more money to teenagers wanting a newer car. On Saturday, teachers struck back with the “Oklahoma Teachers’ Car Show”.

The car show was on the parking lot of the Target shopping center at 71st and Highway 169 in Tulsa. Teachers parked their cars, raised the hood and openly discussed the vehicle’s problems.

The event was actually a fund raiser. The goal was $50,000 to give 50 teachers $1000 to get their cars repaired.
