2020 Tulsa Mayfest Canceled

Longstanding arts festival Tulsa Mayfest has been canceled for 2020.

Tulsa Mayfest organizers said they are following recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more for the next eight weeks. The City of Tulsa also recently announced they are limiting special event permits now and in the immediate future.

"This is in the best interest of public health and we believe it is the right thing to do for our staff, guests, artists, and the community," read a Facebook post announcing 2020 Tulsa Mayfest has been canceled.

"One final word: it is our hope that during this extreme time, you’ll find a way to support artists and festivals. Event cancellations will have a negative impact on the arts community, especially for nonprofit festivals like Mayfest. Now is a great time to buy art from living artists and to support a cause important to you," organizers added.

Mayfest was scheduled for May 8–10. The festival was recently brought under the umbrella of ahha Tulsa.

Mayfest started in 1973.
