Encore! The Ying Quartet on Performance Oklahoma

The Ying Quartet occupies a position of unique prominence in the classical music world, combining brilliantly communicative performances with a fearlessly imaginative view of chamber music in today's world. Now in its second decade as a quartet, the Quartet has established itself as an ensemble of the highest musical qualifications in its tours across the United States and abroad.

At the same time, the Quartet's belief that concert music can also be a meaningful part of everyday life has also drawn the foursome to perform in settings as diverse as the workplace, schools, juvenile prisons, and the White House.

The Quartet appeared as the guest ensemble in the final concert of the season offered by Chamber Music in Oklahoma on Sunday, April 14th of 2013, performing the Quartet in C Major, Op 20, No. 2 by Franz Joseph Haydn, the String Quartet Op 11, by Samuel Barber and the Quartet in a minor, Op 132 by Ludwig van Beethoven.  Hear this program and commentary from the quartet’s violist Phillip Ying on Performance Oklahoma at 8pm!   Tune in and celebrate this terrific series who offer their first concert of the new season on Sunday, October 6th featuring The Hermitage Trio in an all Russian program!

Tune in Saturday evening, September 28th at 8pm here on Classical 88.7-1!
