Oklahoma Tax Commission Adopts Mobile App for Vehicle Registration Renewals

Oklahoma vehicle registration renewal is the latest task you can complete with your smartphone.

The Oklahoma Tax Commission has adopted the Gov2Go mobile app, which can handle every step of the process, from payment to reminding you the next time your registration is due.

Oklahoma Interactive President and General Manager Bret Warren said they’ve been working with the state since 2001 and saw Gov. Kevin Stitt’s digital initiatives as an opportunity.

"This just is a very practical and intuitive way to get Oklahoma to have kind of that one website or platform feel where citizens don’t have to go through the government scavenger hunt," Warren said.

Warren said data collection and sharing by the app is restricted.

"It’s only information relevant to that process, and it’s only information that the Oklahoma Tax Commission will ever see and have and there are no other third parties involved," Warren said about registration renewal.

The Gov2Go app can also provide state Amber alerts and voter information.

"And then we’ve also got a pipeline of new services that will be launching in the remainder of the year and into 2020," Warren said.

The Gov2Go app is available for Android and iOS devices.
