Oklahoma surpassed 10,000 cases of COVID-19 to start the weekend, and Tulsa County set a fourth straight one-day record in new cases.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 331 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, bringing the state's total to 10,037. Tulsa County had 136 of those cases, coming on the heels of previous single-day records of 96 set Wednesday, 120 set Thursday and 125 set Friday.

Tulsa County now has 2,206 cases of COVID-19, most in the state and more than 200 ahead of Oklahoma County.

Statewide, 2,255 cases are active. In Tulsa County, the number is 772.

One new death was reported Saturday, a Tulsa County man age 65 or older. There have been 368 deaths in the state, and Tulsa County has the most with 66.

At week's end, 197 people were hospitalized, 47 in Tulsa County. Statewide, hospitalizations were down slightly from Thursday.

The health department considers 7,414 Oklahomans to have recovered from COVID-19, an increase of 202 from Friday. Patients are considered to have recovered if they did not die, are not currently hospitalized and it has been at least 14 days since their symptoms began.
