Jump, jive and swing back into the 1940s at TASM’s Hangar Dance on the evening of Friday, September 14. The dance will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. It will take place inside the museum’s exhibit hall directly in front of a recreation of the art deco facade of Tulsa Municipal Airport terminal. Guests are encouraged to wear vintage dress popular during the 1940s. Every guest will receive a souvenir gift. The TEG Swing Band will be performing swing jazz music from the 1940s. A cash bar will be available and a vintage canteen marketplace will be set up with vendors from hand-rolled cigars to bourbon & wine tastings and more. Tickets are currently on sale at TulsaMuseum.org. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting TASM’s programs including Oklahoma’s aerospace heritage preservation, STEM education, student field trips, camps and scholarships. TASM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
