Bartlesville Women’s Network will celebrate Deborah Langley as History Maker of the Year during National Women’s History Month in Bartlesville. Over the past four decades, Langley has been an active volunteer and leader in many local organizations.
Dr. Karen Neurohr, the OSU professor noted for her work with Okie emigrant poet Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel will be the guest speaker at the event.

Tulsa Garden Club stages its design-specialty flower show, “Oklahoma Shows!” FREE and open to the public, 1-4pm, at Tulsa Garden Center.Visitors will experience creative floral design, botanical arts, photography and educational exhibits in accordance with National Garden Clubs, Inc. Standard System of Awards.Demonstrations in floral artistry will be at 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm.Young gardeners/artists will be recognized at 2 pm for entries in contests sponsored by Tulsa Garden Club and National Garden Clubs. One contest features elementary students' posters of Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl.PLUS-Garden Kiosk will have aprons and tools available for purchase-Garden Flea Market offers gently-used gardening and gardening-related items for sale-Cast your "People's Choice" ballot for your favorite entries in each division. People’s Choice winners will be announced on TulsaGardenClub.org and Facebook by 5pm, Monday, March 27, 2023, CT.Beautifying Tulsa since 1929, Tulsa Garden Club engages the community through gardening education. The Club's mission is to embrace civic and environmental responsibilities by providing education, resources, and networking to promote the love of gardening. Oklahoma City University's annual Thatcher Hoffman Smith Poetry Series will host public presentations by celebrated poet Jericho Brown on March 29 at 10AM and 8PM
Jericho Brown is winner of the Pulitzer Prize (among his many awards!) and author of four collections of poetry: Please (2008), The New Testament (2014), his Pulitzer-Prize winning book The Tradition (2019) and the new Civic Dialogue Edition of The Tradition (2022). The Civic Dialogue Edition is intended to use his poetry as a spark for "deep and engaging community conversations" about urgent issues in our society today. We encourage YOU to use this book as the basis for conversation in a new or existing book club in anticipation of his visit!
This event will feature Readings and Book Signings at 10AM and 8PM And a 7PM Open Mic for area poets--bring your work and share!
