The Afghanistan Perceivers, Oklahoma’s only sanctioned Sherlock Holmes society, will present the connection between Claremore writer Lynn Riggs and Sherlock Holmes at 2:30 p.m. on May 24 at the Circle Cinema.

Riggs, whose novel Green Grow the Lilacs was converted into the musical Oklahoma, wrote two screenplays starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick, Dr. John H. Watson.

Andy Couch, a Lynn Riggs expert, will talk before, between and after the screenings of Sherlock Holmes in Washington and Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror, both set during World War II as Holmes helps the British government fight Nazi Germany.
