Tulsa, OK – PSO aveage customer bills to rise by $4
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Public Service Company of Oklahoma customers will see their average bills rise by about $4 this summer, but the utility says the reduced cost of natural gas kept the level of increase down.
PSO said Friday says the increase of $4.01 during the peak months of June to October is due to the "fuel cost" portion of customer bills.
The utility says that without the drop in natural gas prices, average bills could have increased by $6.39 for customers who use 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month. Such customers now will pay $94.21 per month.
Natural gas rose 4.7 cents Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange to settle at $4.341 per 1,000 cubic feet.
PSO spokesman Stan Whiteford says the fuel cost should return to off-peak levels in November.
