Oklahoma City, OK – Ex-guards sentenced in Oklahoma inmate death
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Two former Oklahoma County jail guards have been sentenced to federal prison in connection with the death of an inmate.
Twenty-three-year-old Justin Isch of Edmond was sentenced Wednesday to six months for using excessive force on inmate Christopher Beckman of Choctaw. Twenty-nine-year-old William Hawthorn was sentenced Thursday to eight months for lying to the FBI and a federal grand jury about the abuse.
Beckman died May 28, 2007, two days after fighting with guards in his cell. Authorities say Beckman either suffered or faked a seizure.
Former guard Gavin Littlejohn was found not guilty in December of violating Beckman's civil rights and causing his death.
