Undated – US shoppers crowd malls all night long

UNDATED (AP) The nation's stores and malls drew the crowds in the wee hours as bargain hunters tried to get their hands on deals from TVs to toys on Black Friday.

Bargain shoppers crowded the nation's stores and malls, some of which made a bid to grab shoppers even earlier with Thanksgiving Day hours. Some stores did Black Friday promotions last month.

Patricia Lopez, 32, was in line at Toys R Us last night. She says she figured she could skip shopping today, but then decided to go out for Black Friday too.

Lopez sys the economy scared some people but she feels better this year than last.

In an encouraging sign for retailers, lots of people said they were buying gifts for themselves.
