Bartlesville, OK – DHS had investigated woman charged in baby's death

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A Bartlesville woman charged with neglect in the death of her 10-day-old daughter in a washing machine was investigated six times by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services which found no abuse or neglect of her older children despite findings of drug use.

A report released Tuesday by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth shows 26-year-old Lyndsey Fiddler was investigated for allegations of slapping a child and using drugs. The reports note drug use but say no abuse or neglect was found of Fiddler's 8- and 5-year-old children.

Fiddler is charged with felony child abuse in the Nov. 4 death of Maggy May Trammel in a washing machine in Fiddler's home.

Fiddler has said she put the baby in a bassinette and doesn't know how she got into the washer.

DHS spokeswoman Sheree Powell told the Tulsa World the agency is reviewing the report.
