Plane Crashes in Skiatook

By A-P

Skiatook, OK – SKIATOOK, Okla. (AP) The pilot of a single-engine plane was not hurt when the aircraft crashed near a Walmart store in Skiatook.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford says the Cessna 182 went down in a field about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Lunsford says preliminary reports indicate the plane ran out of fuel before it crashed. He didn't know from where the plane had departed or its destination.

The pilot was the only person on board.

According to FAA records, the plane is registered to Skydive Airtight in Skiatook.

A call to the business seeking comment late Wednesday wasn't immediately returned.
