Following last week’s north Tulsa shooting spree that left five African-Americans wounded, three of which died, two high profile civil rights leaders are coming to town.
The First Baptist Church of North Tulsa says the Reverend Jesse Jackson will be in Tulsa this weekend. Jackson will take part in a private meeting with north side community leaders at the church tomorrow at noon. He plans to speak at a community rally for hope and healing on Saturday evening at six.
Also in Tulsa, over the weekend, is the Reverend Al Sharpton. He will speak Sunday afternoon at three at the Great Union Baptist Church. That church is only a few blocks away from where one the shooting victims was found. Accompanying Sharpton will be the national head of the NAACP.
