109 year-old Otis Clark

He fled Tulsa during the 1921 race riot. At 109, Otis Clark was believed to have been the oldest Tulsa race riot survivor. He had been living in Washington State, but his Facebook page says he was residing in Dallas.  In a 2009 interview with John Erling’s Voice of Oklahoma oral history project he discussed the riot. In that interview, Clark discussed how a multi-story grain mill on the “white side of the Frisco Tracks” was used as a snipers nest to fire upon blacks.  He disputes that only a handful of people were killed in the riot.
