Figures, released today by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, show the Tulsa Metropolitan Area’s unemployment rate has declined, again. The figures are for the month of April and show a Tulsa Metro rate of 4.9%.
OESC spokesman John Carpenter says the rate dropped from 5.3% in March. This is the first time the rate in Tulsa has been below five-percent since Christmas of 2008.
Carpenter says construction and manufacturing led the way in April. Total employment was up some 2,000.
