On-Line Danger! Expert says Be Aware of Red Flags!

Craig's List.jpg

If you are buying or selling an item from a website or classified ad, be careful. A Tulsa man was shot and robbed yesterday when he went to an apartment to buy a lap top listed on Craig’s List.

The Tulsa Crime Commission Director says such meetings can be dangerous. Carol Bush says never go alone. Bush says you should never meet someone at their home or apartment. She says if it is a small item, then agree to meet in a public place, like a coffee shop or fast-food business.

A Tulsa man went to an apartment complex yesterday looking to purchase a laptop that was listed on Craig’s List, when he was robbed and then shot. He is expected to recover. Several years ago, a Bixby woman was killed by a man who responded to her classified ad for pool table for sale. Bush does feel these were isolated incidents and not the start of a new crime trend.
