OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) —Several new art exhibits are being featured at the state Capitol and will be on display to the public for the next few months.

The Oklahoma Arts Council says a special reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Capitol with the featured artists. The reception is free and open to the public.

A series entitled "Rocks, Trees, and Water" by Guthrie artist Larry Layton will be on display in the governor's gallery on the second floor of the Capitol beginning Monday through Nov. 17.

Another series by oil painter Anne Spoon captures 100 portraits that she painted in a studio space in historic downtown Okmulgee in 2011. Entitled "Portrait of Okmulgee: One Year One Hundred Portraits" it was unveiled this week in the Capitol's east wing.
