Winter Storm Exits Sooner State

Oklahoma-DPS

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A winter storm that dropped more than 10 inches of snow in parts of southwest Oklahoma is making its way out of the state.

Forecasters say snow and sleet fell on southwest Oklahoma Sunday, with 10 inches of snow reported in Granite and 13 inches of snow reported in Vinson. Elsewhere in Oklahoma, dry low-level air and sleet prevented major accumulations of snow.

A winter weather advisory is in place until 1 p.m. Monday for parts of central Oklahoma as areas of light freezing rain and sleet are expected to move through. A small section of southeastern Oklahoma is under a winter storm warning until noon Monday, with a mix of freezing rain and sleet predicted.
