PERRY, Okla. (AP) — Firefighters battled a blaze at a tank farm west of Perry as thick black smoke billowed into the sky.
Video from television news helicopters showed eight above-ground storage tanks engulfed in flames Monday afternoon. Strong winds from the north carried thick smoke toward Oklahoma City, 60 miles to the south.
Television station KWTV reported that fire crews contained a grass fire that spread from the tank farm and took precautions to avoid a tank explosion.
The Noble County Sheriff's Office reported no injuries.
The owner of the tank farm wasn't immediately known.
