OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Senate has given its approval to a measure authorizing pay raises of up to 6 percent for district attorneys and judges across the state.
The resolution approved Friday rejects pay raises for judges on Oklahoma's appellate courts and for statewide elected officials like the governor and attorney general. The measure now heads to the governor for final approval.
A state board last year recommended a 12 percent pay raise for the judiciary, whose salaries are linked to the pay for statewide elected officials like the governor.
District judges currently earn $124,000 annually, while associate district judges earn $114,000 and special judges are paid $105,000.
