Detectives, beat cops and specialty units are being combined into a Tulsa Police Department Task Force. Their goal is to find a Tulsa Serial Rapist.
The announcement of the Task Force follows this morning's attack on a 78-year-old woman in the Brookside area. She is the sixth victim in 15 days.
Based on victim statements, police feel positive the crimes are being committed by the same person. He has been described as an African-American or Hispanic male, 5’6” to 5’10”, with a medium build. However, it is his mannerisms and his vulgar speech that has police zeroing in on one suspect.
While the attacks have been all over town, police say they have all been in the middle of the night. This morning's attack was at 3:30. The man breaks into the home, slips into the bedroom and attacks the woman.
Police are "reminding citizens to be aware and on the lookout for anyone that looks suspicious whether the individual is on foot or in a vehicle. Be conscious of your surroundings even while in your own home and keep your doors and windows locked at all times."
