ENID, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded several small earthquakes in northern Oklahoma during the weekend.
Local law enforcement agencies say there are no reports of damage or injury in the areas that range from about 50 to 80 miles north of Oklahoma City.
The largest quake was a 3.6 magnitude temblor recorded at 7:01 a.m. Sunday about 15 miles northwest of Enid. A 3.4 magnitude quake was also recorded Saturday afternoon about 18 miles northeast of Enid.
The U.S.G.S also recorded three 3.3 and one 2.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday south of Perry.
Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans and damage is not likely at magnitudes below 4.0.
