OKEMAH, Okla. (AP) — Formal sentencing has been delayed for an Oklahoma man who pleaded guilty in the shooting deaths of his fiancee and two girls from Weleetka.

Kevin Sweat was due in court Friday for sentencing, but a judge has delayed the hearing until Oct. 24. In July, Sweat pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder for the 2008 killings of 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker and 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker and the 2011 death of his fiancee, Ashley Taylor.

Prosecutors agreed to drop the death penalty in exchange for the guilty plea.

A presentencing investigation found that Sweat showed "little to no" remorse for the killings. He faces life in prison — either with or without the chance of parole.
