MEDFORD, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded two small New Year's Day earthquakes in Oklahoma.
The USGS reports a 3.5 magnitude quake was recorded at 8:44 a.m. Thursday at Medford, about 30 miles northeast of Enid. An earlier quake of magnitude 3.1 was recorded at 6:05 a.m. about 26 miles west of Ponca City.
No injuries are reported.
Geologists say damage is not likely in earthquakes below magnitude 4.0.
