Classes are canceled today in the Oologah-Talala School District. This follows the death of kindergarten student on Monday.
It hasn't been confirmed whether the death of the 6-year-old girl, earlier this week, was caused by a contagious disease. The student was sent home from school with a fever on Monday.
The Medical Examiner's Office says the child's cause and manner of death are pending a toxicology report that could take several weeks.
Superintendent Max Tanner sent a recorded voice message to all parents that classes on Thursday were cancelled. He says teachers and staff will still come to school today for a professional development day.
