McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — Funeral services have been scheduled for a U.S. Army soldier from McAlester who died at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Services for 19-year-old Pfc. Hank Brown will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.
The circumstances of how Brown died have not been released. The fort has said only that Brown was off-duty and was swimming at a fitness center at the base when he died on Aug. 3.
Brown's mother — Nova Brown — told the McAlester News-Capitol she hasn't been told what happened to her son. The newspaper says a spokesman at the base said Brown's death is still under investigation.
