AAA Oklahoma Reports Increase in Thanksgiving Travel

AAA

Thanksgiving travel is expected to hit a 8 year high this year. AAA predicts than 500,000 Oklahomans will take a holiday trip. This is a 1.2 increase from 2014. Nationally there is a 0.6 percent increase from last year. An estimated 47 million Americans are expected to travel this Thanksgiving. This is the seventh year of consecutive growth for travel

Most Oklahomans will take a holiday road trip 50 miles or more from home. AAA Oklahoma spokesman Chuck Mai says this slight increase is due to the drop in oil and gas prices nationally and in Oklahoma. Mai believes oil and gas prices will continue to drop through the holiday season.
